I had a breast lift a year ago after I lost about 60 pounds. Since then, I have continued to lose another 15 pounds or so and have been really leaning out. Once again, I am unhappy with my breasts and want another lift, possibly a small implant put in when i am done losing weight. I had a full breast lift, with the anchor scar. When I get it relifted, do they have to open the scar underneath the breast again or can it be done with a smaller second scar?
I agree that if you had an anchor type breast lift the incision you currently have can be used. It is my opinion that the full anchor incision gives the best shape in most instances and offers the least revision rates. (there are certainly excellent results with certain shaped breasts using shorter scars with experienced surgeons)
Therefore, your secondary breast lift can be done through the same scars in all likelihood. good luck.
My breasts are very saggy for my age. I just turned 20, and I was wondering if there is any way to lift them without surgery. I am a 32D.
The only way to lift the breast reliably is with surgery. At 20 years old it is unusual to have a great deal of droop. Have you lost weight lately, or have your breasts only recently become larger?
You should look for a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in your area who performs Mastopexy or Breast Lift Surgery. After discussing your desires and concerns and examining you, the surgeon will lay out a recommended plan. There are several options for breast lift surgery:
- Full traditional mastopexy with scars that are around the nipple-areola and come straight down and under the breasts. With this operation, a reduction can also be performed which may be beneficial for you.
- Short Scar Mastopexy with scars that are around the nipple-areola and come straight down. With this type procedure, the scar under the breast is reduced or eliminated.
- Augmentation Mammaplasty with a small scar for insertion of breast implants. Often times a small lift can be accomplished with implants alone, but you will need to definitely discuss this with your surgeon to see if you are a candidate.
I usually perform short scar breast lift surgery that holds the lift very well. Most of the breast lifts that I do are #2 above, but in patients who have lost massive amounts of weight like after gastric bypass surgery of lap band surgery, I will usually perform #1. #3 is a good option for young women who have had a few pregnancies and just need to replace volume and need only a small lift.
I hope this answer was helpful.
