What is a Weekend Facelift?

I heard on tv about a week end lift that makes a facelift much easier and cheaper. what is this procedure?  does it make sense for someone with jowels that sag just a bit and when house hold budget is a concern?

A: What is a Weekend Facelift? A Poor Lift.

Facelifting is like restoring a home. If the problems are not diagnosed and corrected, then they will return. There is no cookie-cutter solution. Every home is different. The problem with a "quicklift" or "minilift" is that it cuts corners, treats every patient the same, and does not allow the complicated maneuvers necessary to fix individual problems. Sure it's less expensive and has a faster downtime, but only at the expense of achieving your long-term aesthetic goals.

Facelift Without Surgery

What's the best procedure that works like a facelift with minimum fuss? I am 52 years old and have decided that I want to improve the look of my face. My choices are filler injections or the new signature lift, which takes about 90 minutes. After reading some of the reviews on the injectables, I am a little apprehensive. I have a wedding to attend in July and I want to look my best. Can someone please let me know about the best procedures that I can do that does not require general anesthesia, with minimal down time and allows me to look like I had a facelift?

A: Facelift Without Surgery? No!

Having said that, you can get improvements in other areas with less downtime and cost. Botulinum (e.g. Botox) can improve wrinkling in the upper face, while soft tissue fillers can improve those in the lower face. Volume with fillers can also enhance your look. Fractionated laser resurfacing can improve skin irregularities and provides limited tightening with about a week of downtime. But if you want your neck and jawline to look sharp and tight, a facelift is absolutely the way to go. I would be wary of "quicklifts" or "minilifts" because usually don't have the longevity of a traditional lift.

Liquid Facelift

Is a liquid facelift safer then facelift surgery?  Can i get almost surgery-like results from one?

A: Liquid Facelift -- Not the same

A liquid facelift hinges on the premise that by adding volume to your face (like blowing up a balloon) one can remove wrinkles and "lift" tissue. The problem is that many times too much volume can give an unnatural look. There is no doubt aging is due to a combination of laxity and volume loss. A traditional facelift will last longer (fillers last at best a few years) and give a more natural look when combined with limited volume enhancement.
