How Long Does It Take to Remove a Tattoo?

i want to get a 6 x 6 inch tattoo removed, and was wondering how long itwou;d take to get it removed? also, how often are the removal treatments?

A: Tattoo laser removal treatment length and frequency

The number of laser treatments a tattoo requires depends on the depth of the tattoo, the types and colors of ink used, the color of skin to be treated, and the types of lasers used to eradicate it. Usually treatments are spaced 4 -6 weeks apart to allow the body to absorb the ink that has been shattered and destroyed by the laser. Some tattoos can be gone in as little as 4 sessions, some will take as many as 12, and some cannot be totally removed if there is scarring in the tattoo. You have to go slowly with the power on the laser so that you do not change the texture of the skin overlying the tattoo. And some tattoos with many colors may require the use of more than one laser since it is rare to find one laser wavelength that treats all colors well.

Can an Excision Be Done on the Finger?

I have a tattoo on the side of my middle finger and I desperately want it removed. I don't want to do laser surgery because it'll take too long a way too expensive. I wanted to do an excision, can it be done or with skin grafting also have to take place? Or what are my other options?

A: Tattoo on finger

There's not much extra skin on a finger, and you probably do not want to wind up with a scar which under a tight closure might widen or restrict motion, or could get infected. It would be hard to believe that an excision of a scar and then a skin graft closure would cost any less than a laser removal. Most docs charge by the size of the tattoo or by the number of laser spots needed.  And it's rare to have a scar with a laser removal if done with proper settings

Legal Options After Laser Tattoo Removal Burn

I have been going to a lady in hull for ages, she has been giving me laser tattooo removal. My skin never burnt after the treatment, she only went over the tattoo once withe laser each treatment. After moving house I could no longer go to this lady and had to find somewhere else. I found this tattoo parlour in worcester that does tattoo removal. This lady went over the tattoo 3 times in one session in a space of 15 minutes. im burnt and have holes in my arm?

A: Tattoo laser removal and possible burning

It's difficult to see from the pictures if you actually have a burn. Blistering of a treated area is not uncommon initially, and healing always needs to take place after a treatment with most lasers. You would do best to be evaluated by a plastic surgeon who treats burns and has experience with lasers before you assume the worst or before you let a problem worsen without proper evaluation and treatment.
