Education

He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in 1976.

Post-medical school training

Dr. Faires completed five years of General Surgery training in 1981 at the University of Louisville in Kentucky where he remained one extra year for fellowships in Microsurgery and Hand Surgery. A fellowship is the highest level of training a doctor can receive in any given medical specialty. He then went on to complete his residency in Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston in 1984.
