I might have a lipoma on my temple. I am getting an MRI. The doctor said I should have a plastic surgeon remove it. I want to make sure there is no dent or strange shape after its removed. If its an experienced plastic surgeon will my temple look the same?
Usually it is best to excise these directly and not try and get them out by an incision in the hairline that results in more dissection and ultimately more distortion. By direct I mean incise directly over the lesion and remove it and close it. making the incision along certain lines will make them less obvious.
Can I have a Lipoma removed at the Emergencey Room? I had it diagnosed 8 years ago, and dont have a personal Dr. anymore.
Since a Lipoma removal is not an emergency it should not be removed in an ER setting. In today's ER's in a major city this would not be allowed. It was permitted 30 years ago in some hospitals but I do not think that it would be allowed today except perhaps in a smaller city and if it was prearranged.
