I am 20 years old, short, on the chubby side, with a bra size of 42DD but I feel that my breast are larger than that. They are quite saggy and have been since my earlier teen years. Could it just be fat? I want breast reduction but I tend to Keloid. I have keloid scars on my chest area and back from acne. I was told not to get tattoos because they might turn into scars but I have three that are keloid free. I've been experiencing spontaneous chest pains now and then...what should I do?
Unfortunately, if you have a tendency to keloid after surgery, you will be prone after breast reduction surgery. Discuss pre-opertively with your surgeon about post-operative scar managment.
I had a breat reduction in Nov, 2010 and I ended up getting a bad infection, my scars are very thick, red and sore my doctor said it was normal. My question is, one breat is a whole cup size larger than the other and I am not happy. My docotr said it happens and that not everyones breasts are the same size. Any advice on what I should do? My insurance covered my procedure but they won't cover a second one, and I don't have the money to get it fixed. But I feel I should be happy with them.
I am always saddened when someone is unhappy with the results of their procedure. Subtle asymmetries are more the norm than the exception and your surgeon is right that each breast usually is a little different. If there is as great a difference as you state, you need to speak again to your surgeon.
I am 17, 5'2, 120lbs, and 34D. Am i eligible for a reduction? And can i get it covered by insurance? My back and neck are always sore not to mention headaches all the time. I wear baggy cloths a lot to try and cover the size of my breasts and swim suit shopping always ends in tears because of them. All i want is to be physically and emotionally happy, but its hard with my unproportioned body. Insurance is the only way possible for the surgery to happen if eligible.
Kaley, you ask an excellent question. I perform several breast reductions a month and have become quite dismayed at how insurance companies completely control the process. The truth is that each insurance company has different criteria and some plas have exclusions. Without consulting with a plastic surgeon and submitting to insurance for pre-determination, you may never know. Good luck
