I am traveling to MX for sx. I have thoroughly researched my doctor. I will have a TT, and lipo. I was told that the US has stronger meds than Mexico. The pain medicine that the dr gives is sinergix. Would a doctor in US give me meds if I told them the truth?
As a plastic surgeon who practices on the border I have had the unique opportunity to see and treat many patients who have had surgery in Mexico. While I'm sure there are many fine doctors across the border the regulations are questionable. The main problem is if you have problem there is no recourse for the patient. You do NOT have the same rights that are granted to you in the U.S. What appears to be a bargain right now may cost you many fold more in revision surgery if it can even corrected. If you do have a problem you will then have the task of trying to find a U.S. doctor who will do revision surgery. I assure you this will be much more difficult than getting a prescription. Think very carefully!
When reading the description of tummy tuck surgery, I read that they "tighten" the muscles, which gives me the impression that something bad may happen if trauma is suffered to the region. After the normal tummy tuck healing period has passed and stiches removed, are there are long-term dangers due to trauma to the stomach, such as from a punch or car accident? Would one be able to do normal exercise or, for instance, spar boxing after such an operation or would activiites need to be limited?
After recovery from a tummy tuck there are no long term dangers or restrictions. You can perform all activities you would perform otherwise.
I'm a 32 years old with two children. I had a c-section 11 years ago and a Vbac 1 year ago. I'm seriously considering getting a tummy tuck in a few months. Do I need a muscle repair and I'm a good candidate for a full tummy tuck? Would a tummy tuck get rid of most of the stretch marks?
You are an excellent candidate for a full tummy tuck with muscle plication. A tummy tuck will remove the excess skin, stretch marks below the umbilicus, tighten the loose abdominal muscles, and make the umbilicus more aesthetically pleasing. I often add liposuction to the procedure to provide an even better abdominal contour.
