I am 10 days post op. I was a 34 A bra size pre op and received 440 saline implants moderate plus profile under the muscle. I also received a small mastopexy with this. He said he wouldn't need to remove that much skin. What will my new cup size be ? I am 5 ft 4 in 115 lbs.
Predicting a bra cup size after a breast augmentation is difficult at best since it depends on several factors. It depends on existing breast volume, implant volume, your band width, and it will very between different bra manufacturers. Wait several months for all the swelling to go down and then go get fitted for bras.
I saw a string of retweets on Twitter about Chicken McNuggets and breast implants containing the same ingredient -- Polydimethylsiloxane, also referred to as dimethylpolysiloxane. It appears McDonald's does list this as an ingredient in their nuggets -- is it also used in breast implants?
Polydimethylsiloxane, also know as PDMS, is a common food additive present in some processed foods like chicken nuggets, jams, milk products, and processed vegetables. It is also used in most silicone products, putties, and adhesives. This this does not mean that breast implants have anything to do with chicken nuggets. As a matter of fact, silicone is found in beer, oats, barley, and rice.
I had saline breast implants placed on top of the muscle about two years ago. I have had no problems until recently. About 5 months ago I felt a small lump on my left breast, the outer part. It felt like a water balloon. I assumed it was my implant. Now the lump still feels the same, but it seems bigger and you can see it protruding. It is not painful at all. Am i feeling my implant?
You cannot tell from" your" physical exam. Your Plastic Surgeon needs to examine these areas for any other issues. The Plastic Surgeon will let you know what needs to be done. Most of these are palpable implants, but a competant Plastic Surgeon will let you know.
Hope this helps
