its been 3 weeks. i have 421 cc my my right breats indents in. it depressing me. please tell me this will go away. my doc told me its fine and as they heal it will fill out nicely. but i just want to get another opinion. :(
Updated: I also wanted to add that my implants are infront of the muscle
I believe that most, if not all, of this indention will smooth out over time. the implant will place pressure in this area simply due to gravity. Skin likes to relax to a resting tension close to 32mm of mercury. (absolute number less important than the fact that there is a known resting tension of skin and when you place tension on skin for shaping above this pressure, it will relax over time.
Trust your doctor. This is a very difficult surgery and it takes time. Revision rates are not uncommon with this procedure.
Some surgeons recommended implants placed under the pectoral muscles, but I'm worried about leakage.
There is no impact of implant position on leakage rate reported in the plastic surgery literature. There are pros and cons of placing the implant above and below the muscle. Most implants are placed below the muscle but I believe there are some instances when placing the implant above the muscle has advantages.
However the leakage rate is the same no matter where you place the implant.
I had the surgery five years ago. No problems with anything except they are dropping and falling to the side a lot when I lay on my back.
I agree with the other surgeons that there are many good options for the very common and predictable problem of skin loosening and sagging with age.
However you asked what the non surgical options are. I have been on the scientific advisory board of the two leading technologies on the market for non surgical skin tightening developed over the past 10 years. These two options are Thermage and Ulthera. They have a role in non surgical tightening but at this point they have no role in breast lifting. They are simply not this powerful. If you do get some tightening, it will be minimal in this area and will not be long lasting.
It is understandable to desire a non surgical option, but no such "magic wand" exists. Surgery and scars are the trade-offs for perkier more attractive breasts. Many women do not accept that, which I understand. However many women come to the point where shape and form matter more than the risk of surgery and well placed scarring. I never force the women down any of these roads. I believe you should just be given the options honestly so that you can make the choice that best fits your needs. Your options are to live with what you have or some form of surgery. Unfortunately there are no good predictable long lasting non surgical options currently.
