The first day after my surgery everything looked great (even though I was in a ton of pain). Now my love handles are bigger than day one and my skin is so tight, and SUPER hard. What can I do so it's not so hard? Will I look like I did on day one again?
Don't panic. It is very common to experience a good deal of swelling following liposuction of any type. Remember liposuction is not an instant gratification procedure and often may take 3-6 months to achieve your end result. Follow your doctors instructions about resuming activity, eating right and possibly undergoing lymphatic massage / ultrasound. It may help you.
I had a vaser lipo on the flanks 4 weeks ago and I see lot of red scars. I am afraid these should not be permanent. how long does it take to completely go away? and skin look normal. I am 32 male. I was planning the same procedure on neck. looking at the abdomen result Is there a risk of permanent marks of scars on the neck?
VASER Liposuction is a trade name for Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction (UAL) which utilizes ultrasound energy to heat the fat and dissolve it. It is great for firmer areas like the outer thighs. It is commonly followed by standard suction assisted liposuction which aspirates the liquified fat. The VASER cannulas do get hot and should be used with a skin protector and avoid contact with the undersurface and outer skin. This direct heat can cause pigmentation and even burns. Pigmentation and redness can be a normal part of the healing process, so I would return to your liposuction surgeon and discuss what these areas represent. Typically the liposuction scars will fade over time.
Hello doctors!!! I've been reading a lot of reviews about after vaser lipo care and was wondering if anyone can give me a list of things I need, i.e., pads (to soak up leakage) and other things you wonderful would recommended. I want to get it before the surgery on Friday. And if you would tell me how long swelling last for. My surgery should only take around 2 hours.
Hopefully your physician has provided you with much of this information. If they haven't you might want to touch base with him/her as we all have different protocols. You should use some old sheets on the bed as you will be oozing for a few days. Protective absorbent pads on your bed will help. Much of the swelling will be gone in the first 4-6 weeks but may take 3-4 months to achieve your final result. Remember, lipo gets you only half way there. Diet and exercise is critical to your successful outcome. Good luck!
