my nose is extremely thick nd i been told no amount of cartilage crafting or grafts will help.i know SI is disliked because it can lead to infection and more importantly, skin thinning.i have to ask,is this such a bad thing for a thick skin person like myself?would the idea of "prepping" my skin with an SI implant, hoping in time my skin will thin, then heading for a revision later in life save a surgeon from having to "defat" my thick skin, which is what almost seems mandatory with my skin
The treatment plan you describe would not be one that I recommend in my practice. While you can get skin thinning with a silicone implant, the amount of thinning is unpredictable. I would certainly suggest visiting with a rhinoplasty specialist to determine what might be a reasonable course of action for you.
Looking for a facial plastic surgeon that preforms this either in Mi. or near it. Anyone know of one?
I have performed countless injections of silicone to manage acne scarring and it can work very well but unfortunately not perfectly. For deeper scars it can work well. It is important to find an experienced physician to do the work for you. Fortunately, I have a ton of experience and have most of my patients who fly in to see me for this procedure. However, it does take a few rounds to get the job done. Remember it is never perfect just an improvement but can be a big one at that.

upper lip riduction, i had soft lumps. after the procedure i have really hard lump. i would like to know the reason for that (fibrosis?), and what is the best non invasive solution (steroidor 5FU injections for along time?)
Since I perform lip reductions almost every single week, I have tremendous experience with this procedure. I would say the hard lumps that you are experiencing more likely than not represents scar tissue in the lip that would best respond to 5-FU injections. I personally hate steroid injections because I think they carry too much risk of tissue atrophy. If they are softer then it could be a mucocele, which is a retained or disturbed minor salivary gland tissue. if that is the case and it does not resolve spontaneously then a surgical removal would be the answer. If the mass is truly hard, then this is less likely the case.
