My Facelift Scars Are Horrible, What Can I Do?

my facelift scars are horrible. 2-3mm white line all along forehead hairline its also dented in. same kind of scar in front of both ears, along the semicircle under my ear and down into neck area , also behind my ears. all are very visable. some are larger with deep recesses in them and all are white and can not be covered with any kind of makeup even Kryolan. what can i do? my hair cant cover any if these because of "cowlicks" etc. its been 8 years and im tired of trying to hide them or have

A: Hair Transplant Should be Your Answer

When you have had bad scars around the face lifted areas not only do they look bad but you have have lost hair from the procedures.  That can also make you look less feminine in shape of the hairline.  I correct the scars or I should say improve them through covering them up but at the same time I recreate a more youthful feminine frame if that makes sense.

Scar Revison Surgery Before Power Assisted Lipo (PAL) OR Vise Versa?

I have a 6 inch scar that is about 2 cm thick above my belly button that seems to have a"caved in" look. It also gives me a "tummy roll" look. I think (as well as the plastic surgeon I consulted)that the scar tissue is attached to the stomach muscle (starts with an "f") and that a scar revision procedure can help "smoothe out" the "caved in"/"rolled tummy"look but it wouldn't fix the "mild" fat around my love handles, upper & lower abdomen. Which procedure should be done first? Scar or PAL 1st?

A: What to do first...scar revision or liposuction

Greetings,

You're an unusual case. Without knowing the specifics for why you have that scar in the location you do, my thought is that you could do the scar revision and liposuction at the same time. My plan would be do to extensive liposuction of the love handles and abdomen, perform a scar revision with probably skin excision, possible plication of the rectus abdominus muscle, and probable incision around the umbilicus (to avoid distorting its position on the abdominal wall). It's basically a modified tummy tuck, based on your unique scar.

Hope this helps. Best of luck - Sam Jejurikar

Should I Get a Scar Revision. I Want It Lowered and Smaller.

I am a 120 lbs.I had a full tummy tuck and muscle repair a little over 2 years ago. My scar stretched above my bikini line. I want to lower it,however, I am worried that it will stretch again. Do i have enough skin. Do you think my doctor pulled my skin to tight to begin with. Is that why it is so wide and high. Should i get a scar revision to shrink and lower it.

A: abdominoplasty

Yes.  Althought there is never a way to predict if the scar would spread or not.  There should be less tension now than when it was done.  Healing is not always under the control of the surgeon.  Scars tend to spread wihen there is a lot of tension and when genetics cause you to heal poorly.
