Non Surgical Lift Options for Patient with Face Paralysis?

Hi, I am 32 yrs old. I had face paralysis about 5 yrs ago and left synkinesis on one side which destroyed my beautiful smile and of course, slightly sagging on the same side.

It bothers me a lot. I thought about Facelifting but one of the aesthetician told me I am still young for that. I really feel self-conscious so I am thinking about having non-surgery face lifting like "Happy Lift" or something similar. If you can suggest something, I can research it at least. I appreciate for any answers. Regards.

A: Facial Paralysis Options Different From Regular Facelift

While under normal circumstances 32 would be too young for a facelift, in your case, it may not be. The biggest problem that you will have is that you have synkinesis which will limit the ability of any static procedure to produce natural results. Before undertaking a non-surgical facelift alternative, I would highly suggest visiting with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss your options. Facial plastic surgeons have a background in otolaryngology, which is the specialty that deals with facial paralysis at the onset of symptoms.

Is 25 Too Young for a Non-surgical Face Lift?

A few years ago I lost 90 pounds, I'm now at a healthy weight but have noticed that from the beginning of my weight loss my face started looking 'flabby'. When I pull my cheeks up from the sides of my face with my fingers, I see a perfect set of cheekbones and an ideal face shape. I don't want a full blown facelift. I'd prefer a non-surgical face lift (eg. thread lift).I have thick skin with no wrinkles and enough volume/fatty tissue. Please advice me on my options.

A: Thread Lift Not A Good Option

TheThe non-surgical facelift you mention - the thread lift - has several recent articles which demonstrate the lack of long term results with the possibility of long term problems. Consultation with a facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon about options for skin rejuvenation including laser resurfacing and dermal fillers would be a good option in your case.

A: Presentation more important than age.

Due to your weight loss, you have premature aging of your face. A thread lift has not been that successful for long term improvement, and it is expensive, and has risks and recovery. You may want to look into a cheek lift aka mini-face lift. It has potential to give a long lasting and powerful improvement.
