I Had a Small Lipoma Removed from my Forehead. After 3 Days I Developed Swelling & Bruising in the Corner of my Eye & Nose. H Is this cause for concern? I've been using ice to reduce the swelling, but, it's hard to do for any length of time, if I want to see. How long will the bruising swelling last?
Most forehead lipomas are subgaleal (under the forehead muscle). When the lipoma is removed, a small amount of blood will inevitably seep downward (with gravity) to the upper eyelids. Blood trapped beneath the skin will cause bruising. This is common and should resolve within 10 to 14 days.
Keep in mind, however, that if your forehead is quite swollen and the bruising is severe, you should see your surgeon. This could be a sign that you are forming a hematoma (collection of blood) at the surgical site.
I Had a Lipoma Removed from my Right Axillary 4 Days Ago and I Am Still in a Lot of Pain and Swollen. What Should I Do? Should I be worried that I am still sore and swollen? It hurts to put my arm completely down to my side as well.
I would talk with your surgeon about your concerns. Remember though that complete recovery after any surgical procedures takes time and 4 days is not much time.
I recently found out I have a lipoma on my lower right back. Apparently it's hitting a nerve so there's pain going up my back and down my leg. The urgent care doctor prescribed methylprednisolone. It's been almost two weeks since I was diagnosed with my lipoma. My lower back still hurts and my right leg feels different. I'm impatient so I was wondering if it's alright to start running again. Also should I be worried that it still hurts to sit down?
Having a lipoma causing signficiant pain like you are describing is unusual. I would certainly see a surgeon to have a biopsy performed and then excision in case the diagnosis you were given is incorrect.
