I had Fraxel restore to help Melasma. I was repeatedly assured that it would be safe to use on my skin tone. I am hispanic with light olive complexion. It has now been four full months and I am still dealing with sever hyperpigmentation. There is a clear demarcation line on my upper cheeks where the laser passed. The melasma has gotten worse. My assumption is that the heat and injury... more
I decided to undergo Fraxel purely for acne scaring from high school and college under the encouragement of my dermatologist. The scaring was not that visible but it made me self conscious. I underwent 5 treatments and I regret it. I used to always get told I looked like I was in my 20's, not anymore. Fraxel destroyed fat cells in my face and my skin sagged. I also now have spider veins... more
I have had mild acne scars from having break out in college. Living Social had a special for $400 and I bought it. My treatment was schedualed 2 weeks out and I researched the heck out of it. I also had a ton of questions and asked my doctor and Fraxel specialist about it. I read all the bad and good reviews on this site as well. I was scared as heck.

I am a 41 year old female, extensive post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and also photo aged skin from years in a tanning bed.
My first treatment was very uncomfortable and torture at times. The second treatment, about a month later, I told the nurse that I wanted extra numbing cream. (which I don't think she gave me) After she left the room, I smeared another big glob onto my face... more

I thank a higher power that everyone made it out alive with minimal injuries. During the fire I received 3rd degree burns all down my left forearm and upper arm of which none were crippling just left a nasty... more

I am doing 4 treatmeants and have completed 2 so far.
The pain starts for me about 2 days after the treatment and lasts for about a week. After the first treatment I had normal swelling for about a week. 2 weeks later I did my 2nd treatment and my Dr. doubled the power of the laser this time (it should be progressive for each treatment).
Both the pain and the swelling was EXTREMELY severe... more
I had my first treatment 2 1/2 weeks ago. I don't see any difference yet, but my biggest concern is the rash that developed afterwards. I had swelling and redness for two days, then peeling started and by the 5th day most of the peeling had subsided, but I had a horrible red bumpy rash on both cheeks, from my jawline up to the top of my cheekbones, and it itched like crazy. With make-up most... more
