I had a breast augmentation 3 days ago. Yesterday I had a MASSIVE headache, and realized it was because of my lack of caffeine (I'm a two cans of Diet Coke a day type girl -- yes, I know it's bad, I'm trying to quit).
I had some DC and it made me feel better, but I'm worried that caffeine post procedure is bad, much like my doc said I could have alcohol in small moderation pre-op, but no booze for two weeks post-op. Should I be worried about having the stimulant?
Thanks for your question. I do not worry about breast augmentation patients having caffeine after surgery but you should clarify with your surgeon.
I am getting breast implants in two weeks and have a girls night out planned the weekend before. I'm not a big drinker, but is it ok if I have one or two cocktails a few nights before surgery? I've heard a few different opinions.
A drink or two would be okay two to three days before surgery, but I would not consume anymore. Make sure your plastic surgeon is in agreement and most importantly follow his/her advice.
If I work out a lot, should I go over or under the muscle? Is there a risk of one or the other if I am in the gym and run a lot? I don't want my implants to move or look really fake. Thank you for your opinion.
For the athletic female patient who desires breast enhancement with a breast implant, breast implant size is the most important factor and not the breast implant plane (under or over the muscle). Most athletic women want to have a conservative size change to match their slender frame. A large breast implant placed either over or under the muscle will make it cumbersome during physical activity. I would recommend a silicone breast implant placed under the muscle in a conservative size range. This will provide the enhancement you want with an easy recovery combined with a very natural appearing breast. I hope this helps. Dr. Trussler
