Am I a Good Candidate for a Short Scar Breast Reduction Surgery?

I wear a 30HH bra which is my correct bra size but I would like to go down to a C cup or a D at most. I have been considering a BR but I am highly concerned about excessive scarring. Can you please offer any suggestions about the most suitable techniques for me. Thank you very much.

A: Breast Reduction by Short Scar technique

Yes, I think you would be a candidate for a short scar breast reduction.  I have been using the Short scar Peri Aerolar Inferior Pedicle (SPAIR) technique now for several years and have used the technique on women larger than you with great success.

Women are happy with the result and I think the breasts stay lifted for much longer than with the traditional anchor technique.  I would recommend seeking out a plastic surgeon in your area who performs the SPAIR technique.

I'm 15 and May Be Getting a Breast Reduction: What is the Estimated Healing Time?

I am 15 with 34DD, and in a week I will be talking to a surgeon about getting a breast reduction, And before that happens I was just wondering the Estimated time for healing and when I would be able to get back to school?

I have Scoliosis, and my breasts cause me severe neck should and back pain, which all lead to extreme headaches. Thanks in advance. :)

A: Breast reduction and healing time

Depending on the technique used and the use of drains you can expect to miss about one week of school and take 2-3 weeks to "feel like yourself".  After this time is usually OK to do most daily activities and even some cardio (treadmill, stationary bike, etc.) type of exercise.  I generally want at least 6 weeks to pass before strenuous activities like weight training or high impact aerobic activities.  After 6 weeks it is generally OK to go out and get fitted for an new bra.
