Temporal Browlift Better Choice for Lateral Hooding? I Do Not Want Scars in Crows Feet

A: Brow lift excellent option to correct lateral eye lid "hooding"

A brow lift incision can be hidden in the scalp and successfully correct lateral eye lid hooding. It's a very common and easy procedure to perform. Please consult with a Board Certified Plastic surgeon to get the best possible result. Best wishes, Dr. H

Why is a Coronal Forehead Lift Best for Women?

Is a coronal brow lift a better option for removing frown or scowl lines?

A: Why is a coronal forehead lift best for women?

A coronal browlift could be said is most beneficial for women because the incision is hidden in the the scalp about an inch above the hairline. However, it should be recommended for those who have short foreheads. The coronal lift widens the forehead. A widened forehead will give the immpression of an older person (receding hairline). So be careful in choosing this type if you already have a wide forehead, unless you are willing to mask it with bangs. I have found that endoscopic lifts do not have the longevity of standard lifts. I hope this helps, Dr. H

Can Visible Browlift Scars Be Treated?

I had a browlift performed ten years ago and due was left with a wide, visible scar beneath my hairline. As I have aged and my hair thinned--I am now 46--the scar seems to be extremely visible and ugly, and more difficult to hide. Can it be treated in any way, such as with lasers or tattooing? The doctor who did the surgery tried to tattoo it, and now I have a darker red line above the scarline, making it even worse. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you so much!

A: Minimizing old brow lift scar

Hi Emily,

You could benefit from a scar revision. I use a strong absorbable sub cuticular suture technique that minimizes widening of scar. This allows my incision lines to be almost invisible. Ten years should be long enough to allow for full excision of scar, but a physical exam should tell you for certain. Best wishes, Dr. H
