Will SmartLipo or SlimLipo Help The Loose Skin On My Abdomen Post-Babies? (photo)

After having my kids, my stomach is left with loose skin and stretch marks, and is the only area on my body I just can't tone up. I know the ideal choice for me is a tummy tuck, however I just can't stand the thought of the scar. Although not as good, do you think I would see good results from either SmartLipo or SlimLipo? I am not looking for perfection, but would like my midsection to be tighter and smaller! My biggest fear is it creating MORE extra skin. Thanks! :)

A: Loose skin of abdomen

Your concerns are common.  Once the skin has been stretched out from your pregnancies, it is very hard to get it to contract to where you were before the babies.

Generally the best option is a tummy tuck and the scar is not so bad because it can be easily hidden.  In women who are thin and just have extra skin it is a great operation and will allow them to wear a bathing suit with confidence.

Another option would be a mini-Tummy Tuck which usually removes enough skin when combined with liposuction to make a snug tummy.

Should I Be Concerned About Old Scar Tissue from Previous Liposuction and Current Smart Lipo?

I had traditional lipo 6 mo ago and smart lipo two weeks ago on my abdomen area. I was not happy with the first results. I have many hard areas and I was told the scar tissue from the previous procedure was not healed coupled with the new intrusion to my body. I am having trouble getting a complete deep breath and I was told this is due to scar tissue pressing against my diaphragm. My doctor did not seem concerned, so my question is should I be concerned? Will this get better with time?

A: Liposuction scars and difficulty breathing

Just curious- was either of your liposuction procedures performed by a board certified plastic surgeon?                 I do not understand the comment about your liposuction scar pressing against your diaphragm. This does not make anatomic sense. You should see a physician to evaluate your lungs and your breathing. Red flags are flying- don't wait.
