I Have Had Radiesse Injections for More Than Five Years, Could This Be Why I've Showed For Anti-DNA & Anti-Histone Antibodies?

I recently had some bloodwork done which showed elevated levels of anti-DNA and anti-histone antibodies. These could be indicative of a Lupus diagnosis, but I was wondering if these types of antibodies could be produced as a by-product of the body's reaction to foreign particles comprising fillers. I understand Radiesse and all fillers are removed from the body over time by blood and white blood cell activity. I don't have major Lupus symptoms so I wondered if there could be any correlation.

A: No Link Between Radiesse and Lupus

The calcium spheres used in Radiesse are similar to the calcium found in our bones. The placement of Radiesse in the skin stimulates the body to produce natural collagen. While auto-antibodies, such as anti-DNA and anti-histone, are present in some Connective Tissue Diseases, the cause of these antibodies is not well characterized. Current medical evidence does not support a link between Radiesse and Lupus, or any other autoimmune disease.

How Long After Radiesse is Injected in Marionette Lines Should I Expect to See Results?

I had Radiesse injected into my marionette lines a week ago and don't see any difference. How long do I have to wait to see improvement?

A: Radiesse works immediately after injection Radiesse is a filler that works to add volume deep below your skin. Sometimes if your wrinkle is closer to the surface you might need a more superficial filler in addition to Radiesse. Examples of these include Resylane, Juvederm. These are the softer fillers the other physicians are talking about. However the Radiesse you received should still help you to achieve your goal, just at a deeper level.

Will Daily Use of the Sauna Remove Radiesse Injections from my Cheeks?

I had radiesse injections in my cheeks and I am concerned that daily sauna use will desolve the injections sooner than I would like. Will sauna have an effect on the injections?

A: Sauna use doesn't dissolve Radiesse Enjoy your sauna! It should have zero effect on your Radiesse. It should last about 12 months with or without the sauna.
