I had my lips injected today with juvederm and am wondering if appearance is due to swelling. My lower lip in the corner area on one side is fuller than the other side. I don't know if this could be just swelling or if perhaps I was injected with too much too far into the corner. My question is within 8 hrs after injections would I have a good picture of evenness of my lips or due to swelling is it hard to tell. Thank you.
Restoring natural volume to the face has been a great advance in facial rejuvenation. Purified gels, such as Juvederm, are used to restore this volume and are often used in the mid and lower face. A very common side effect with lip injections is swelling which may last for hours or a few days. During this recovery time, the lips may appear uneven. If this unevenness does not improve after one week, I would consult with your injecting physician to reevaluate the product placement.
I've been researching how long Juvederm lasts, but what people say in Juvederm reviews and what the FDA says don't really match up. Can someone tell me, how long does Juvederm last? Does where you have the Juvederm injections in your face make a difference in how long it lasts?
Your skin naturally contains hyaluronic acid, a sugar that attracts water giving the skin its plumpness and creating volume. As we age, we all lose the amount of hyaluronic acid in our skin causing our faces get more angular, smile lines around the mouth become more prominent, and the corners of our mouth begin to droop and turn down. Our cheeks also drop with time, creating hollows around the eyes and temples
Juvederm restores hyaluronic acid in the skin, softening these creases and eliminating hollows. Juvederm has a variable longevity because the body breaks down the hyaluronic acid at different speeds in every person. On average, Juvederm lasts in the lips 4-6 months (Ultra), nasolabial folds 9-12 months (Ultra Plus) and in the cheeks 12-18 months (Juvederm Voluma). Miriam Hanson M.D.
people have often said they do not see it BUT I Can. i went and got botox twice and dr said she even put the "extra" on forehead which i did not care for anyway i did not have any lines on forhead to begin with so didnt get the logic on that. Anyway i was told y another dr that a filler would do the job but she is also recommending some 90 day challenge face cream which she stated may even help with the line...Any advice would be so much appreciated the creams are alot more expensive
Botox is the ideal agent to relax those vertical lines that form between the eyebrows on the forehead because they relax the muscles that cause the lines to form. However, for those deeper lines that persist after the use of Botox, a dermal filler like Juvederm or Restylane can be used to greatly improve the appearance by filling in those lines and smoothing out the skin in that area.
