I Am 18 and I Want to Get Botox in my Top Lip, is That too Young?

I have a very plump bottom lip and a very noticeable smaller top lip and I would like to get Botox injected in only my top lip, being 18 would you recommend that I wait ?

A: Wouldn't Recommend

As the other physicians have mentioned, filler treatments are more what you're looking at than botox, however, there's another way to look at this!  You asked if you're too young and I think that's a great question.  In my practice, we do these treatments, but I always caution people to look at themselves as someone else would see them!  Remember, we are all our own worst critic!  Others may look at you and not notice this lip size difference at all.  Because we all want to be perfect, we may be harder on ourselves than we need to be.  I do think this should be something to think long and hard about, because once you start something like this, you're likely going to have to continue.  So at the age of 18, that's an even longer time than most!

Will Botox Take Care of Glabellar Lines with Thin Skin?

I am only 29 and have noticeable glabellar lines that are present even when I don't furrow my brow. I also have thin skin. I am headed for a botox consultation in a couple weeks, but am wondering - will botox take care of these lines? They're not extremely deep, but more noticeable than most before/after photos I've seen of others with "problems" in this area. I'm just wondering what to expect.

A: Yes!

The nice thing about botox is it works regardless of what condition your skin is in.  Because it works on your muscles, not your skin, it will stop them from making the movement that caused the wrinkles in the first place.  To avoid your skin getting any thinner, use a daily sunblock moisturizer which will also prevent "age spots".  The spf number should be at least 30 and be used whether you're going outside that day or not for best results!

Botox Sunbed

Ive had botox in the forehead 3 weeks ago, in my glabella 12 days ago en to correct my higher eyebrow one injection 10 days ago; can i go under a sunbed? I feel like as if my brows have drooped a bit, how long will it take to correct?

A: Working against each other While there is nothing about Botox that would make the sunbed more of a problem, sunbeds really are bad enough without any help. In terms of wrinkles, Botox makes them better and uv exposure makes them worse. Think of losing a bunch of weight exercising then gaining it all back eating junk food- just doesn't make sense. A brow drop from botox will lessen over time, but you may need a more specific pattern of injection to avoid that next time.
