I just had Restalyn injections into both my upper and lower lip. The lower lip was not numbed as well as the upper and painful when the doctor injected. But a few hours later, I noticed that my lower lip was extremely swollen, the right side much more so than the left. I am very worried. I've been applying ice and it hasn't gotten worse but really any better either. I dont see any obvious bruising either.
Swelling is normal after Restylane is injected into the lip. It does take at least a week in many cases for swelling to resolve to the point where you doctor can tell if it will need to be touched up. Cold compresses applied for the first day or so after injections can help reduce the amount of swelling that develops. If you are concerned that something doesn't look right the physician who injected you or a knowledgeable person on his/her staff should be willing to examine you.
I had Restylane injected in my tear troughs 9 months ago. After I had it done, you could see a little bluish mark under each eye where it had been injected and what looks like half moon ridges there under my eyes as well. There were hard bumps on each side of my eyes as well that I was told to massage with a hot cloth very hard. The bumps, I thought, went away but recently I can notice them again and they are very hard and the ridges and bluish marks under my eyes never went away. I am very self-conscious and petrified to see someone, only to have it made worse. Will it ever go away? What should I do? Please help.
If left untreated, restyalne and juvederm can be apparent in the tear trough for 18-24 months. Massage is a good first stop to correcting irregularities in the tear trough but, if this is unsuccessful, simply "dissolving" the product with hyaluronidase is a simple, safe, and effective solution. You don't have to live with a result you do not like!
Do dissolving agents for ha fillers cause swelling or bruising? I am trying to remove some lumps caused by restylane in my lips, but I'm doing it on a saturday and have an event on that evening (4 hours after my appointment).
Vitrase injections are usually well tolerated. They can cause a small amount of swelling but this is typically less apparent than the HA that is being removed. Vitrase can exert a visible effect as soon as a few hours after injection. Bruising after vitrase injection can occur.
