Forehead Looking Fake, What Are My Options? (photo)

I used to have a very short forehead. I had it enhanced using laser treatment. It is longer and looks good when I have my hair down, but it looks very fake if I pull my hair up! You can see a very unnatural hair line. Can you tell me if there is anything I can do to give my forehead a more natural look? Thanks,

A: Correcting a Very High Forehead

You now have a very high hairline. You can try and wait and see how much air returns from your ? zealous hair eradication treatment and may wish to aid the task with Rogaine or off label use of Latisse, you may try individual hair plug transfers which are very expensive or you may wish to have a scalp advancement which would require a permanent scar in your current hairline. The latter can be combined with hair transfer and bevelling the scar to allow hair growth through the scar to better mask it.

Good Luck.

Forehead Lift to Help Reduce or Eliminate Migraines?

I've heard of Botox being able to help Migraines and then this morning I heard that people who have had a Forehead Lift surgery have also reported less migraines. Have any of the doctors on this site received the same feedback from their Forehead Lift patients? Is it true?

People tend to lump all headaches into the same pile and call them migraines. In truth treating headaches has become a sub specialty of Neurology and each TYPE of headache may respond to different treatment. Because coronal brow lift (scar from the top of one ear to the other) involves division of the scalp and repair along that line it is THOUGHT to be helpful in some cases of cluster headaches which MAY be associated with spasm pf the muscles of the head (not with dilatation of the blood vessels in the brain the way other headaches are thought to originate). We have all heard such comments BUT are they really scientifically true to justify performing this operation on ALL sufferers of cluster headaches. I don't think so.

Forehead Lengthening - How Much of a Gain in Length?

I am a 23 year old female.I have a very short hairline (almost 2inches). Is there any way of lengthening the forehead with a lift of some sort? If so how much of a gain in length would you see. Please briefty explain the procedure you would suggest. Roughly the cost as well. thanks for any help as I am extremely unhappy with my low hairline.

A: Forehead Lengthening VS. Hairline Repositioning

A Forehead Lift is intended to lift the brows and "open" the eyes. This can be done with an incision in front of the scalp hairline which can shorten an overly high forehead as well as advance forward a receding hairline. An endoscopic forehead lift can undermine the forehead and scalp allowing a seemingly short forehead to be apparently lengthened by moving the hairline posteriorly (although the actual skin of the forehead is not really increased).

Which method is the one for you? That would depend on your examination, your surgeon's preference and your goals.
