Can I Go on a Consult for Rhinoplasty Just to Ask if They Think I Need It?

I like my nose straight on & in profile, it seems small to me, but I noticed in pics where I'm bent forward a little, my bridge seems wide. Everyone tells me I'm being stupid when I say my nose is big, so I'd like a professional opinion, but I'm scared of going to a doctor who might play into my possibly unfounded fears. Would a good doctor tell me if I'm being silly or actually need a nose job or no? That may seem dumb but no one stopped Michael Jackson & his nose looked awful. Any advice? Thx.

A: rhinoplasty consultation

From the information you have given, it sounds like a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeron would be helpful. The analysis includes not only your subjective concerns, but also an evaluation of your anatomy and what could or should be done to improve it.  If the surgeon feels that you would not benefit from a surgery, he or she would share this opinion without reservation.

Can Rhinoplasty Give me the Profile I Desire?

I Have a Rounded Nose Tip and Am Interested in a Less Droopy, Less Round Look. Is this possible? I am not sure what profile I fit into, I'm thinking mestizo. I desire a smaller, less round nose! What is realistic?

A: positive changes with rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty is a common procedure with great patient satisfaction.  Your concerns about tip definition can be easily addressed.  It is important that you develop a strong sense of the changes that you desire and discuss them fully with your surgeon so that he or she may plan a surgery that will achieve them.  I would suggest that you review pre and post operative photographs of other patients at various lengths of follow up and  that contain the standard views. Also,  review with the surgeon your own preoperative photographs so that communication is clear.

Final Result 1 Month After Rhinoplasty

i had my rhinoplasty 1 month ago,iam not sure about the result.is the shape after one month is the final result or i have to wait to see better shape(iam not american so excuse my language).thanx

A: final results of rhinoplasty require patience

The final result of any rhinoplasty regardless of open or closed technique, is not evident until at least 6 months.  In my practice, the landmarks for evaluation are 3 weeks, 6 weeks, 12 weeks, 6 monhts and 1 year.  Ultimately, there may be positive changes, particularly a reduction in tip swelling, from 6 months to a year.
