Could you shed some light on the questions we should be asking to our Botox Providers whether they are MDs, nurses, spas before we get any additional treatment? What would you recommmend? Is there a way to find out if any of the Botox Treatment shots have any preservatives eg mercury or anything that would cause a crystal type of material eg grainy filaments from the injection sites? Are there any metals we should worry about or are the injections only Botulinum toxin type A?
It seems like anyone who can pick up a syringe can inject Botox. I recommend seeking a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist or a nurse under their supervision. Fortunately Botox injections are not permanent. As I have seen eyelid and brow deformities done by people who were not trained or skilled.
Ask the number of units to be used and the cost per unit. Generally, it takes about 20 units for thr crow's feet and 20 units for the frown lines, according to the severity. Ask about the risk for each area, and if it is made by Allergan and pure. Ask about the injector's experience and their knowledge of the muscles of the face.
