I had restelyn put into facial folds and it is more promenent and had made my cheeks fuller.. Seems to have moved into cheek area instead of staying in the folds...What can I do.?.. I already had full face to begin with Not happy with it at all..Mostly noticable when I smile..
As stated previously, it is possible for Restylane to migrate to the cheek area if the injections are placed improperly in the nasolabial folds. Although injectables seem like "easy" procedures, I caution all patients to go to experienced physicians who are skilled at performing the procedure, as misplacement of the filler can lead to complications such as you describe. I suggest you followup with your physician. The good news is Hyaluronidase can be injected into the palpable areas of "misplaced" filler to allow it to dissolve quickly. Good Luck...Dr. Corrado
I had Restylane injected on the lines between eye and cheeck 3 days ago. The other side went ok,but on the other side a hole appeared to skin surface. Injector put more filler, but the hole got deeper. It looks really ugly. Injector told me to wait 2 weeks to see if the skin gets normal. I feel Restylane bump under skin, but it never "rose up". I'm really worried, I feel it has not got any smaller. Should I wait or go to see a doctor? Is this normal? There is more filler on that side also.
Although it is difficult to assess your problem without pictures, I am assuming the "hole" you are referring to is a contour irregularity associated with uneven injection of Restylane in the "tear trough" area. First, I suggest having the area evaluated by a board certified specialist to ensure that the "hole" is not from any damage to the skin of the lid itself. Restylane is an excellent option for correction of "tear trough depressions" but requires placement by a skilled and experienced injector. The skin in the lower eyelid is very thin, and uneven injections will result in visible irregularities, as it appears you are describing. If you are requiring immediate resolution to this issue I would suggest Hyaluronidase to dissolve the "lump" as has been mentioned in previous posts. Good Luck...Dr. Corrado
I had restylane injected in my upper lip 5 months ago, I can feel lumps on the inside of my lip, one small visible one where the needle went in in the middle and an irregular appearance above my lipline. I went to a new surgeon to look at it, and he said there was no product left in there and that it could be scar tissue from bad technique. How can I get back to my pre restylane state, I wasn't to concerned about it, because i thought once the material absorbed it would go away...
It is possible that you still have residual restylane in the lips, which can be causing you problem. It is not uncommon for the product to last that long in some individuals. If this is the case, injections of Hyaluronidase will help to dissolve the remaining Restylane. If scar tissue is present, this may pose a more difficult dilemma. Good Luck, Dr. Corrado
