The forehead muscle raises the eyebrow. If too much relaxation occurs a droop may result. This can sometimes be counteracted by botox injection to the eyebrow depressors to relieve the downward pull of these muscles. This can sometimes "even out" the pull and let the brows float back up.
I am going to get my first Botox injection for frown lines, forehead lines, and crow's feet. I don't want to get ripped off. Can a doctor please tell me - What is the best price for Botox?
With the proliferation of medical spas and the number of people who perform injections and have little understanding of the structures that lie under the skin of the face and neck, just remember that this is your face you are talking about, and the greatest deal is almost always too good to be true!
I am always reminded of my experience with a CRNA (nurse anesthetist) who works with plastic surgeons and tried to cut corners to get her Botox and ended up with many divots in her face. Clearly, this was not Botox, and I have also encountered many patients" stories that are consistent with practitioners watering down their Botox.
Whether the pricing is by units/zones/etc, find someone who you trust and who understands the structures underlying the skin. Some people find Botox to be a "easy" procedure. I think that, just like most cosmetic procedures, the quality of your Botox result depends on the injector. Don't short change yourself.
Hope this helps!
Approximately, how many units of Botox are necessary to contour thejawline? I've called a few plastic surgeons & have gotten different responses.
One doctor said it would take approximately 10-15 units per one side of the jawline & regular follow ups would be necessary to upkeep the look every 4 months or so.
Another doctor said it would take a whole box or 50 units per one side of the jawline & just one more follow up session in 6 months to upkeep the look because it would permanently weaken the jawline muscle.
So, which route will lead me to the best results of having a contoured mandible? How many Botox units are needed to make my face appear smaller? Also, what is the appropriate Botox follow-ups? Thank you!
Twenty-five units of botox to each masseter muscle to contour the jawline is a reasonable place to start. However, each patient is different and you might require more botox to get the desired result.
Once you and your doctor determine the optimal dose, you should follow up in 4-5 months to consider repeat injections. Again, this time period varies with patients - the effective period sometimes becomes longer after repeated botox injections to the same muscles.
It's very important for your doctor to determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Using botox to slim the lower part of the face works best in patients who have enlarged masseter muscles, usually as a result of grinding their teeth. If your lower face is a little wide because of the bony antaomy this approach won't work.
In the right candidate the lower facial slimming can be impressive.
Good Luck
