Should I Avoid Second Hand Smoke in a Casino 5 Days Before Breast Lift?

I am having a bilateral mastopexy in 5 days. I would like to go out tomorrow night with my husband (possibly to a casino) and there will be smoking. Should I not go because of the second hand smoke? I am not smoking but I am worried about being around it before my surgery. Thank you so much.

A: Smoking and surgery

Even second hand smoke can hurt your result and result in significant complications as noted as the other physicians that answered.

I also like to point out that even the nicotine patches, nicotine gum, and the like can hurt your result.  To minimize complication risk, minimize your exposure to any form of nicotine.

I hope this helps, good luck!

Am I a Candidate For a Mid Face Lift? Tried Injectable Fillers and was Unsatisfied. (Photo)

Hi At 32, I suffer from a prematurely aged mid face area. Gravity has pulled the fat down from the area underneath my chin bone to below the corners of my mouth as you can see. Would a mid face lift help me to reduce my 'jowly' appearance as well as reducing the hollowed cheeks, drawn face look? My aim would not be to look 25, but to not have people surprised when I tell them my real age. I've tried restylane (1ml each side) in the cheek, didn't think it helped much. Thanks

A: Mid face lift or cheek implants?

I enjoy performing the mid face lift to use your own tissues to restore youthful volume to the cheek area, but your pictures show that you do not have much tissue to lift.  Therefore you need some sort of implant to the cheeks.  Although fat injections are an excellent method to add volume to the cheeks, you may need more than one procedure.  I would therefore suggest cheek implants to help you meet your goals with one procedure that gives a permanent result.

Will Behind the Ear Hearing Aids Make a Difference for Mini Face Lift?

I am considering a mini face lift. I am a 70 year old female with very Little sagging for my age but I would like to keep up my appearance. I wear behind the ear hearing aids. Will the incisions interfere with the comfort and/or fit of my hearing aids?

A: Mini lift and hearing aid

Typically the mini lift incision does not extend behind the ears, so I think this will work well for you.  You should have a detailed discussion with your plastic surgeon about this.  Before surgery he or she can mark you with the hearing aids in place to be sure that no interference will be created by the scars.
