I had sub-mental liposuction a year ago, and the doctor took out too much fat in the area at the base (where neck meets jaw) and there is a triangle area which is depressed and was hard to photograph, basically it looks like a hole as if someone's thumb is pressing up and people have commented on it, also now my glands are more visible. Could a fat transfer fix this? It's just the one area. Should the surgeon who did it try to fix it? Price estimate for area? I can't believe it happened!
Many times overaggressive liposuction can lead to contour irregularities which is what you are describing. Free fat transfer is an excellent means to fill the "voids" from your prior procedure and allow for smoother contours in the neck. Good Luck....Dr. Corrado
I am a 30 yr old woman who is an average weight. Even at my skinniest (size zero) I've always had a double chin but I notice it's bigger when I'm heavier. My doctor advised against liposuction, saying the problem was excess tissue, not fat. Thermage was recommended instead. I'm hesitant to try Thermage because many reviews say it was expensive and didn't work. Judging from the photo I've attached would I be a good candidate for chin liposuction or Thermage? Thanks!
After careful examination of your photo, I feel that conservative liposuction in the submentum (area under chin) will help to greatly improve your profile. Submental fat is many times a difficult area to improve even with successful weight loss. From your profile picture, it appears that you have some submental fat producing a fullness in the neck. By removing this fat conservatively, you should be able to achieve a much sharper neck angle. A key factor plays a role in the success of the procedure. Skin elasticity is a major factor responsible for good results with liposuction. At your age, your skin elasticity should be satisfactory that you will get good skin contraction after fat removal. Thermage is not a good option. It requires many treatments, at high costs, with little improvement. Good luck.....Dr. Corrado
