I'm considering liposuction in the abdomen area and use that fat to be injected to my buttocks. Is this possible? This will be my first time for liposuction/contour. I heard that fat removed for the first time is best to be used for transfer.
There are several different methods to perform the actual liposuction and processing of the fat following the liposuction as well as the re-injection of the fat to the buttocks; however, the actual techniques used can impact how much of the fat is still present at one year following the Brazilian buttock lift. It is the combination of the fat transfer to the buttocks as well as the removal of the fat from the abdomen and lower back/flanks that improves the overall contour of the buttocks. Two people in your area (Newport Beach) that perform this procedure are Dr. Hisham Seify and Dr. Nirav Savalia--you will be happy with either one of them. Best wishes.
My doctor is a member of the "American Society of Lipo-Suction Surgery" as well as an "American Association of Cosmetic School" associate. Does this mean he is board certified? I am having tumescent liposuction done this Friday and am just wondering...
Board certification in an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) accredited field that deals with your specific procedure is an imperative minimum for you to evaluate your surgeon (tel# 1-866-275-2267). In addition, you should look at whether or not they have privileges to do the same procedure in local area hospitals and not just in their offices--as hospitals require rigorous specifications to be met. Many "cosmetic" or "aesthetic" or "skin" surgeons perform procedures in their offices in substandard conditions and they do not have privileges to perform in the hospitals. Also, you should assess what percentage of their practice is dedicated to your specific procedure and what their results are. These are minimum requirements and may still not guarantee that your outcome is what you had wished for, but they demonstrate that your surgeon is responsible and and serious about their practice. Finally, awake versus asleep liposuction is not a determinant in proper liposuction.
I had Liposuction performed on my outer thighs bout 3 weeks ago. I have recently noticed a sort of "dent" under my butt. I am assuming this is due to excess fat removed during my procedure. How can this be fixed? I have heard of fat grafting, but I am a pretty petite woman and do not necessarily have anywhere to take more fat from. What are my other options?
Liposuction results typically require 1-3 months depending on the technique used and your postoperative regimen. However, I would wait a full 6 months prior to any revisions or touch-ups with additional liposuction or fat grafting. This allows for the tissue to recover, your final swelling to subside, and your skin to tighten. At that point, usually only minimal fat grafting is required (and we can usually find some fat even on petite women). I recommend that you speak with your surgeon first and let them know about your concerns, in order to develop a plan to achieve your goal.
