I am now two weeks post op after Tummy Tuck and Breast Implants. My drain tubes for tummy tuck have slipped out slightly and one hurts and is slightly inflammed at point of entry. Is this normal? The fluid is the expected color with no odor but I was pushing them back in until today when I was told not to do that. I am worried I might have really screwed up. No fever but I was having Hot/Cold spurts last night. Any suggestions. My doc says not to worry, but he is two hours away and I am worried!
What you are experiencing is normal. What you need to look out for is increasing redness and foul smelling drainage and fever. If any of these occur call your Dr.
I have extensive stretchmarks and am considering a tummy tuck in the near future. What can I expect after the procedure as far as reduction of my stretch marks? I also have a lot of extra skin and want my stomach tighter. Is this a good procedure for me to get the results I want? I also want to lose about 25 lbs before the procedure and have been working out but cant seem to get it to improve any more.
You are a great candidate for a tummy tuck.
1. Excess skin without a lot of excess fat
2. Muscle weakness
3. Most of the stretch marks at or below the belly button.
You should get a great result!
I am a 50yr old female considering a Tummy Tuck after 2 c-sections in my 20's my skin below my belly button is sagging. I am in fairly good health,(not on current meds except vitamins) In order not to be in debt at my age, I am considering doing my surgery at a post gradudate cosmetic surgery fellowship pgrm in NYC because it's affordable. However,I am not really sure if this is the route to go. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you
When it comes to comparing cost vs experience one needs to consider several things. First it is unquestionable that the more experience one has the better the results. So with residents there is less experience so they cannot possibly be as good as a plastic surgeon who has 20 years of experience. Second, the results of a procedure will be with you the rest of you life, the money savings are temporary.
One other way to save money is to shop around outside your immediate geographic area. NYC is a high priced area for everything whereas rural New York may be substantially lower even with an experienced plastic surgeon.
I am not saying that you shouldn't have surgery with residents but you need to consider these issues
