Is my Dr. Making the Right Choice for Me? Mini Tummy Tuck Scheduled March 3rd! I am 32 years old and have had 3 children. I am 5'4 and weigh 115lbs. My dr. told me that the muscles above the navel are fine and he recommended I go with a mini tummy tuck instead of the full. while I like this idea because recovery is quicker, shorter scar, and no reconstructed navel...i worry that my belly button will be stretched down like some of the photos on here. do you think from my photos that he has made the right choice for me? he will do lipo and suture the lower muscles.
It is rare to see a great candidate for a mini-tummy tuck who, after pregnancies, has laxity limited to the area under the umbilicus. I have performed them over the years, but most women require more muscle tightening and want more skin tightening than a mini-tummy tuck will accomplish. Do not let a short scar tempt you into having an insufficient operation.
I am planning to travel to Costa Rica for a tummy tuck, face lift, back lipo. I cannot afford the US price, but am desperate for a younger look, have you heard of or recommend Dr. Rodrigo Araya, CIMA. Pls relay feedback.
I believe you are putting yourself in danger by having surgery out of this country to save money. There have been so many disasters due to medical tourism. Many patients have developed infections from bacteria that are not common in the US, making treatment very difficult. If you do have a complication, you will have much difficulty finding a doctor to take care of you here, and your surgeon in Costa Rica will most likely be no help. Would saving money be your priority if you were having heart surgery?
I'm getting a tummy tuck and breast augmentation sometime after Christmas! I need to know what exactly I need. I think I need a full tummy tuck and larger breasts. Will a full tummy tuck remove all my scars? Is it really necessary that I get Liposuction after the procedure? Also, when I bend backwards, my muscle sticks out right below my breasts/in between my ribs, it that fixable? I am 5ft 2in and very short-waisted. How much would all of this cost (full costs, no hidden costs please)?
Without examining you it is difficult to predict how much skin will be removed, but I would predict that most, if not all, of that vertical scar will be removed. I perform liposuction with almost all of my abdominoplasties, so if you have a thickened layer of abdominal fat, the liposuction can only improve the result. I am not quite sure what you are describing with your muscles, but I would expect the muscle deformities to improve after that layer is tightened during the operation. Good luck.
