Is It Safe for Me to Get Juviderm & Botox at the Same Appt. if I Have Graves Disease?

I am currently not on any meds bcus we are still feeling my amount of medication out. I do have graves disease and when I do take my meds, I take methimazole 5mg. Per day. 10 mg. Per day made me go hypothyroid. Is it safe for me to get 20 units of botox and one syringe of juviderm at the same appointment? I am 27 years old and this will be my first time getting any injectable. Thank you.

A: Botox and Juvederm on same visit with Graves disease.

Treatment with Botox and Juvederm should be safe at the same visit as long as the Graves disease is stable and not actively causing problems with your eyes. Consider having this done by an oculoplastic surgeon in your area, who often times is an expert in both Botox/Juvederm and Graves eye disease.

Good Luck!

I Am 18 and I Want to Get Botox in my Top Lip, is That too Young?

I have a very plump bottom lip and a very noticeable smaller top lip and I would like to get Botox injected in only my top lip, being 18 would you recommend that I wait ?

A: With some exceptions: Botox for upper face, fillers for lower face

Botox is a neuromodulator/neurotoxin that is typically used to efface lines that are created by muscle contraction. Therefore, it is effective for the lines between the eyebrows, crow's feet, forehead lines. As for the lips, restylane and other hyaluronics are suitable for "plumping" of the lower lip. It is also great for other areas that need more volume, such as the smile lines and tear trough areas. At your age, you are unlikely to have those last two problems.

In any case, go to an experienced board-certified injector for your injectable needs. Good luck!

Can I Go Running 48 Hrs After Getting Botox?

I just had botox yesterday morning and I was wondering is it ok to go running tomorrow afternoon? is it ok if my forehead sweats?

A: Running after Botox

Running 48 hours after a botox treatment should not be a problem and is good for you. Enjoy your run!
