I had a bit of lipo done on my left butt cheek in order to achieve more symmetry. Problem is she lipoed too high up and this created a "dent".It was terrible so I had revision and she lipoed my inner thighs in order to transfer fat back. it's a little better but it's still asymmetrical and I still have the ugly dent. I want to get this fixed with a diff doc. Is it possible to fix the asymmetry and dent? Possible to do with laser or local anesthesia? About how much would this procedure be? thanks
Jaycee, Sorry to hear that you have some areas of abnormal contouring after liposuction. Having dents or lumps, otherwise know as contour irregularities, after liposuction can happen. Depending on the problem and its severity, these contour irregularities can usually be treated with a combination of liposuction and fat grafting. Whether it has to be done under local or general anesthesia will depend on how severe the problem is. What is right for you really can't be determined without a consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon. I would suggest that you start by speaking with your plastic surgeon and discussing the reasons for your dissatisfaction. Most plastic surgeons do have a financial policy about revisions because while we would like to achieve a perfect result every time, sometimes it just doesn't happen. Good luck!
I Had a Tummy Tuck & Lipo 1 Wk Ago and Still Swollen-the Dr Removed 7ltrs of Fat and Loose Skin- How Much Wieght Will I Lose?
Unfortunately, there is no correlation between the amount of lipo and weight loss. As someone has already mentioned, lipo and a tummy tuck are body contouring procedures, not weight loss procedures. I usually advise my patients that may not see any change on the scale or even in the size of clothing, but they will see a difference in the way their clothes fit or hang on their bodies. Also, keep in mind that it can take weeks to months for the swelling following surgery to subside. I know it's hard, but just be patient, and I'm sure that you will see results soon.
I have liposuction of flanks scheduled for Jan 6th 2012. I have some trepidation...have seen many before and afters on this site with similar body types to mine (boxy, angular thru flanks). Some of the pics are great, results I would be pleased with for myself; then others seem to have very little change at all. My question-what is the best approach to take with my surgeon to ensure I obtain my desired result? I do not want to come across as pushy or difficult, but I do not want to waste $4k.
I understand your concerns about ensuring that you get the best possible results from your surgery. The keys to achieving this goal are multifactorial. First, I would make sure that your surgeon is a qualified board certified surgeon; then make sure that you have a good relationship with him or her -- you should trust him/her and be able to communicate your goals and expectations. Your surgeon should be able to help you have realistic expectations by explaining what is possible after examining you and having an understanding of your medical history. Good luck!
