Laser Hair Removal Anesthesia

Are You Put to Sleep Whilst Having Laser Hair Removal?

A: Painless Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is one of the least painful cosmetic procedures. If you need something, apply topical 1 hour before and again 30 minutes prior to procedure. Check with your doctor regarding components of any topical anesthetic as some can have serious side effects if applied over a large area.

Hypopigmentation on Labia After Laser Hair Removal

after my first session( one week ago) i was left with 2 burns on my labia. after 3 days they scabbed and left w white mark they look horrible in real like i have an infection. i have attached a photo . i need any advise on help on this matter as they are big marks. i want to know if it will look normal again or what can i do ?

A: Contact your doctor

I cannot see picture.

Go see your DERMATOLOGIST

After any infection is treated, there are several things to consider.

1. Never have ANY laser done anywhere BUT a Dermatology or plastic surgery office. There are tons of spas around and they have no medical knowledge whatsoever. It is NOT worth it.

2. Do NOT let anyone other than a reputable Dermatologist or plastic surgeon attempt to correct remaining dyspigmentation.

Laser Hair Removal Side Effects and Risks?

Concerned about side effects from LHR. Can I get permanent damage from the laser? what about hyperpigmentation or scars?

A: Laser hair removal side effects and risks depend on where you go

As a dermatologist, we see lots of bad things from people who get treated at "medical spas". First of all, side effects of treatments can happen to anyone. It is perfectly fine for someone other than a doctor to perform the actual procedure AS LONG as it is under the supervision of a physician (specifically a dermatologist or plastic surgeon). With the economy and decreasing pay for our physicians, we have seen a lot of problems with general providers and "spas" trying to perform these procedures at a reduced cost. Beware of what you pay for.
