How Come a Breast Lift Cost More Than Breast Implants?

how come a breast lift cost more than breast implants?

A: cost of breast augmentation

The simple answer is that the cost of a surgery is based on its complexity -- both in terms of operative time, surgical difficulty, and in pre- and post-operative care and planning.  A breast augmentation involves the placement of an implant either under the breast or pectoralis muscle through a small incision.  This surgery typical takes about an hour; and while it is surgery and has risks, it is not as complex a procedure as a breast lift.

For a breast lift, a surgeon can use many different techniques (this requires surgical judgement to decide which technique is best for the patient), the incision is larger with more undermining of areas of skin and/or breast tissue, and the surgery is typically 2-3 hours in length, and is also more difficult technically than a breast augmentation.  For these reasons, a breast lift typically costs more than a breast augmentation.

I've Had Implants For a Few Years, Can I Get A Lift Without Exchanging Implants?

I decided to get implants a couple years back they took about a year to heal and get into place ( horrific) now that they have settled I'm not satisfied with the results, I would like to get a lift as I hoped for perkier breast. Can I get a breast lift while keeping the same implants? I read on a couple of sites that this is possible but when I asked my Dr ( who doesn't do lifts) he said, "no", I would need to go through the NEW IMPLANT JOB all over again

A: breast lift after breast augmentation

Many women may find that after a breast augmentation, they now require a lift.  In fact, some surgeons even stage the two procedures under certain circumstances (perform each procedure as a separate surgery).  So to answer your question -- yes, it is possible to perform a breast lift without changing your implants.  Of course, this would depend on how old your implants are and if they are still intact.  I would suggest that you discuss this option with a board-certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

I Am 18 I Do Not Have Children and I Have C Boobs That Sag, What Options are Best for Me?

Thank you so much for your time first off. Secondly, I am eighteen, ninteen next month. I developed an overactive thyroid and lost about thirty pounds since I was about fifteen. I have stabalised my thyroid with birth control pills and maintain a consistant weight. after losing the weight my boobs did shrink about a half to a full cup size (i used to wear a d) now I sag to the point that when I lay on my back my sternum is the high point and my sand bags are to the sides..this is a life crisis.

A: breast lift timing

From your description of weight loss and sagginess, you may benefit from a breast lift.  One thing to keep in mind is that you are young, and your breasts will continue to change as you age or as your body changes.  I would recommend that you speak with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options and the timing of surgery for you.  Good luck!
