SmartLipo Nerve Damage Recovery?

I had SmartLipo under my chin, and the dr. hit a nerve, leaving me with paralysis on the left side of my mouth.

I am now 10 weeks out, and I still have the paralysis. My plastic surgeon just keeps saying it will get better, but I am really starting to wonder since it has been over 2 months and I look like a stroke patient.

How long does it take to recover from nerve damage caused by liposuction?

A: Marginal Mandibular weakness usually related to liposuction trauma

We have one of the largest series of laser assisted facial and neck rejuvenation procedures in the country and are well over 500. I developed the smartlifting technques for face and neck rejuvenation.  In those 500 procedrues 2 had short term lip weakness and this was felt to be due to trauma from the liposuction and not the thermal injury of the laser.  All got better with time and this could be up to 4 months. The two patients had prior face lifts and the scar tissue caused some resistance to the procedure.

Is Smart Lipo Safe for Use on the Jawline?

Hello- I just had tumescent lipo done under the chin. The doctor wouldn't perform this procedure for the jawline due to risk of nerve damage. Would smartlipo be a safe procedure to remove fat below the jaw to make a more defined jawline? Thanks

A: Lipo and Smart Lipo is not dangerous around jawline

We developed smartlifting which is short for smartlipo lifting and utilize the smartlipo laser in every single facelift we done.  We have close to 500 procedures with no nerve damage in any. So it is perfectly safe for lipo or smartlipo along the jawline.

Liposuction Vs. SmartLipo ~ Which is Better?

I have been to two doctors, one wants to do smart lipo and one is a plastic surgeon and said smart lipo is not as good and performs only traditional liposuctions. How can I decide which is the best choice?

A: High technology offers advantages

We currently perform SmartLipo, Vaser Lipo and Tumcescent Lipo, none of which require general anesthesia. As you see from reading some of the responses if someone does not have the technology they will call it a gimmick and others tell you to see specialists such as themselves for procedures because they are better. Biased physicians who do not answer your questions should be avoided.

SmartLipo and now about six other brands of Lipolysis lasers do have advantages in doing small fat deposits, minor touch ups and revisions. Usually, when done, you are getting a small dose of conventional lipo as well. Vaser also adds ease and quicker recovery to the procedure. If you are interested in minimally invasive techniques for quick recovery do seek out a lipo doc who embraces advanced technology.
