Pictures of Tummy Tuck Without Muscle Tightening?

Does anybody have pictures of females who chose tummy tuck (mini or full) WITHOUT muscle tightening? Even better if the pictures are of women after pregnancy who decided not to have them tightened. I am considering a mini (I do not want a full) and I do not want my muscles tightened. I don't care if it's a "sub optimal" result in the eyes of the plastic surgeon. I mainly just want to get rid of the pouch of fat and some of the skin with as little invasiveness as possible...

A: Panniculectomy

To reiterate what some of my colleagues have said: removal of skin alone does constitute a panniculectomy; the need for muscle repair can be assessed on physical exam, but this is part of a true mini- or full tummy-tuck; it's your belly and your choice, but you have to understand the anticipated results with each procedure.

Also, if you have an isolated panniculectomy, local anesthesia may suffice without any IV sedation or general anesthesia.

Of course a formal consultation is required to determine your best option. Second opinions can also have clarify complex issues. Good luck.

Is It Protocol To Wait 3-6 Months After Weightloss to Have Surgery?

I am a 22 year old with no children and have lost about 70lbs in the past year & am 22lbs away from my goal.I'm planning to have surgery Jan.2012 to have a tummy tuck without MR and a breast lift.I’ve read is it important to wait 3-6 months for my weight stabilize before having surgery, why?I’ve seen the same saggy skin for a good amount of time and do not understand the point of waiting an add'l 3-6 months. Also,is it advisable to combine an armlift with the tummy tuck & breast lift?

A: Weight Stable for Tummy Tuck

I typically make sure that my patients' weight is reasonably stable for 3-6 months before proceeding with a tummy tuck or body contouring surgery.  While patients may not always be at their best possible goal weight, it's important that their bodies aren't undergoing major changes that could affect their end result.  It also helps to make sure that the eating habit and lifestyle changes that they made are sustainable, so they get the best possible result shortly after surgery as well as longterm.

Tummy Tuck Scars

Tummy tuck scars - Abdominal scar 4 months after tummy tuckI imagine that you can have tummy tuck scars hidden below your underpants but is this true? can i wear a bikini 1 year after tummy tuck?

A: Bikini after a tummy tuck

You should be able to wear a bikini within a month or two after a tummy tuck -- if you want to, that is.  Obviously all patients are different, and you should discuss the scar with your surgeon before surgery.  Most of the time the scars will remain low and easily hidden clothing, including most bikinis.  In some cases you can even bring a bikini to show your surgeon what you hope to wear after surgery and discuss whether the bikini will cover the fading scar after surgery.
