How long should a person wait to have a "touch up" or second procedure done on the exact same area? I need more fat removed and also small bulge evened out in the inner/outer thigh area that I had done about 3 months ago. What is the minimum time frame to wait for a second procedure and is there any more or different risks if done too soon on the same area?
I would wait at least 6 months even up to a year before a second liposuction procedure. Your results will continue to change as you heal over the next 6 months to a year. If you try to correct an issue too soon, you may cause more harm than good by over sucking which can lead to contour irregularity.
Can someone explain what is Smart Lipo? how is smartlipo different from normal liposuction surgery?
SMART liposuction is laser assited liposuction. The laser delivers different wave lengths that assist in breaking down and melting the fat cells. I prefer to use SMART lipsuction in conjuction with traditional liposuction to get the best results. The SMART liposuction assists in melting the fat and tightening the skin, and tradiional liposuction is used to suck the remaining fat out.
I just had tumescent Smart Lipo done on my abdomen and a male breast reduction. The doctor suctioned out the liquefied fat after using the laser. If the excess fat was not suctioned out, what happens?
I definitely believe that in most cases suctioning the fat out after Smartlipo achieves much better results. Only in cases where very minor contouring is performed do I consider not performing suctioning of the fat with Smartlipo.
