28 yr old female, with 3 children. I feel like I have a lot of excess skin in fat in my abdominal region. I am interested in a tummy tuck and inner thigh lift, as well as a breast lift. Is it possible to combine all 3 in my situation?
I many cases you can technically combine procedures. However, there are several issues to be aware of. First, how long will the surgery take. Not only for your health(DVT etc) but also surgeon fatigue. Second, a more difficult recovery. If you have an abdominoplasty and thigh lift jointly, then you have more difficulty moving about as both your abdomen/core and your legs will be in discomfort.
I personally would not perform an abdominoplasty and thigh lift at the same time.
I want to get plastic surgery to improve/reduce my thighs, and I'm having trouble figuring out whether I need liposuction or a thigh lift. My thighs are large (larger than what would be expected for someone of my size), but they aren't smooth. On the inner thighs (the area I want done), there is some wrinkling that almost gives the appearance of sagging. I'd assumed it was fat, because I thought excess skin could only be caused by a large weight loss, which I haven't had. Is this true? I'm in my early 20's and wondering what type of procedure I should seek.
- Biggest determinant wis amount fo fat/volume relative to the amount of skin excess. If the main problem is fat and it is lovalized to either inner thigh or outer thigh or both and the skin relatively tight, then liposuction alone may help.
- If there is significant bulk.volume, then better to stage this- first stage is to do liposuction (ultrasonic or laser liposuction) to deflate or debulk the thighs; then 2nd stage, a thigh lift where the excess skin is excised.
- Thigh lifts can be done in different ways. Medial thigh lift, wherein scar is horizontal vs an extended one wherein scar may be horizontal + vertical, will give a more extensive scart, but more skin/fat can be removed.
- As always, it is best to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon and it may even help to visit a few so you can benefit from, possibly, differing opinions.
