When Does the Redness from a Glycolic Peel Go Away?

I recently used a 30 percent glycolic peel on my face and neck. I left it on for 10 min. My face got crusty and dry and scabbed where i had acne. My neck turned into a blotchy red mess and I dont understand why. I was wondering how long will it take for the blotchy redness to go away on my neck? I have been using cereve lotion and neosporin to keep it moist. Also some topical ointments lidocaine 5% and mupirocin 2% mixed in. does this sound like a good combination to get me through?

A: Redness after glycolic chemical peel

Superficial peeling usually involves redness, followed by scaling/peeling that ends within three to seven days.

Can You Have IPL Treatment if You've Been Treated for Skin Cancer?

A: IPL treatment after skin cancer

There are no contraindications between IPL treatments and past and/or skin cancers.  It is important to use sunscreen, SPF 30+, daily and especially after a light therapy treatment, as these treatments will temporarily increase your sensitivity to the sun.

After IPL I Have Two Burn Blisters and Dark Marks That Never Existed - is This Normal?

After IPL , I have two burn blisters on my forehead and darkened marks that never existed on my forehead, and this was the clearest part of my face... is this normal??

A: Dark spots after an IPL treatment

Blistering rarely happens but if it does, notify your provider, keep the area clean and apply aquaphor or Vaseline ointment.   You will notice brown spots darken in appearance after the treatment.  These areas will gradually slough off or gradually fade and the spots will be lighter than before the treatment.
