Should I Have Restylane Filler for my Upper Eyelid After Asymmetry from Blepharoplasty for Lash Ptosis

Hello, In 08/09 , I had a blepharoplasty done on both of my upper eyelids because I was experiencing discomfort from the eyelashes rubbing against my eye, and also because they were slightly inhibiting my vision. However, it left my right eyelid crease much higher than before causing a asymmetry. My opthamologist suggested using Restylane to fill in the right upper eyelid and help promote symmetry. But, I'm worried that the Restylane will push the eyelashes down again. Is this possible? Thanks

A: Treatment for post Blepharoplasty Asymmetry

Post Blepharoplasty Asymmetry can be caused by multiple things. These are correctable by many means, including Restylane, other fillers, fat, or several types of revisionary surgery. Discuss what the suggested correction will accomplish and the risks specifically. Without a picture or an examination, there is no way to give specific advice.

Restylane for Under Eyes After Rhinoplasty?

How long after a Rhinoplasty should I wait to inject Restylane for undereye I just underwent Rhinoplasty surgery 1-week ago and wanted to use Restylane to fill the wrinkles and dark eye hollows underneath the eyes (lower eyelids) - near the tear ducts and middle of lower eyelids.

I have had these for the last 5 years and have been wanting to fix this issue. Will this interfere with the healing process for my rhinoplasty?

A: Restylane Lower Blepharoplasty

Injection of Restylane or any other filler to correct the problems of the lower eyelid can be done at anytime. It provides excellent results for minimal effort and risk. However, immediately after any surgical procedure in the area, such as a Rhinoplasty, there is swelling that can distort the area and, thus, make it difficult to get the injection right. I would wait until the lower eyelid problem returns to what it was before the surgery. This may be only a few weeks or a few months since everyone is different.
