How is a Yin Deficiency Related to Facelift Acupuncture?

How is it determined if someone is the best candidate for facelift acupuncture? or would really benefit from that treatment?

A: Acupuncture Facelift

Acupuncture Facelift falls into that group of procedures that are advertised everywhere for facial rejuvenation without surgery that sound too good to be true. They are. The only proven way to lift the tissues of the face is with surgery. There are no short cuts (other than some shorter scar techniques). I have looked at the sites that have before and after pictures of acupuncture facelifts. All of the improvement seems to be due to differences in lighting (a common method of fooling the unwary). A report in the Washingtonian magazine of a reporter who had an acupuncture facelift found no improvement that anyone else could see. Save your money and put it where you will see a real difference. See a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. If surgery is not for you right now, there are multiple other less invasive methods that really do make a difference.

Are 1 Hour Facelifts Really Possible?

What types of procedures are used for these "1 hour lifts" as advertised by Lifestyle Lift Centers that I saw on TV. (http://www.lifestylelift.com/)

A: One Hour Facelift

The simple answer to your question is that a one hour Facelift (if you define Facelift as a procedure that rejuvenates the face for an extended period of time) is impossible. It is not even possible for the doctor to do the main part of a Facelift (incision, undermining, plication, and trimming the skin) in an hour and have the staff do all the set-up, anesthesia, wound closure and dressings if you use the above definition of a Facelift. One can make a straight (as opposed to one that insinuates around the normal lines of the ear to hide well) incision around the ear, take out some skin and close the incision in an hour. The problem is that the results only last a short time and the scars spread and look ugly or pull the ear down as the tissues assume their previous position. This is a marketing ploy by unscrupulous physicians who want to take your money, not rejuvenate your face. If a Plastic Surgeon member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery made such claims, they would be kicked out of the organization.

How Much is a Face Lift Compared to a Lifestyle Lift ?

What is the price range of a mini face lift procedure done by a certified/qualified medical plastic surgeon?

A: Cost of Facelift vs Lifestyle Lift

Lifestyle Lift is a franchised procedure designed to make money, not provide you the best result. They make money by  cutting corners which may put you in danger. I have no doubt that the originator has enough experience to do a good job. If you have the exact problem that the doctor on duty the day of your surgery, you may also get a good result. I have even seen this once. If every corporate policy is followed, it may even be safe. The problem comes in who decides what you need, who oversees the actual facility and then who does the surgery. I cannot give you absolutes about the procedure, but I have reviewed cases by some Lifestyle Lift doctors and have observed that there is a general theme in these reviews. The staff made the decision about what the patient needed and the doctor met the patient on the day of surgery. What was planned was not what the patient needed in order to rejuvenate the face. The doctor was not a Plastic Surgeon and knew how to do only one procedure, the most basic lift. This procedure did not provide what the patients needed. The doctor that did the procedure did not appear to know that a different procedure was needed. Even if this were not true, would you want the cheapest bidder remodeling your face? You generally get what you pay for. With a board Certified Plastic Surgeon who specializes if the face, you get someone who will evaluate you as an individual and choose the procedure that will provide you the best way to achieve your goal.
