Could someone please tell me what the depth of the injection of Restylane for the lips is? Would the injection be subcutaneous, or deeper? I'm currently having Restylane injections around the lip line and even 3 months after injection, I have vertical lines on the lips from the Restylane which I never had before. You can see lumps and bumps from the Restylane. Other people I see that have the Restylane injections for the lips do not have these visible lumps and bumps.
Botox works great on the vertical lines that occur from normal talking and pursing the lips. A dermal filler such as restylane can enhance the shape and volume of the lips but is not great for the small vertical lip lines and injection in this area frequently can cause bumps.
Can I combine fillers in the same area?
There is no problem combining fillers. The only downside is if you have a problem after the procedure it may be difficult to determine which filler caused the problem. I only occasionally use different fillers in the exact same area. It is more likely that I will use different fillers for different areas of the face based on the goals of the treatment. Proper protocol and cleaning the skin with antibacterial soap is essential for any filler but most especially when several fillers are used.
Does it take about the same amount of time for restylane to dissolve from the frown lines compared to the eyebrown lines? Will it generally dissolve on the face at the same time?
The duration of effect for restylane is highly dependent on where it is injected. If you have a neuromuscular relaxer like botox in the brow in combination with restylane then the restylane can last as long as 9-12 months. without the relaxation of the movement of the brow, the restylane will disappear more quickly. The movement of the frown lines will also cause the restylane (or any filler) to dissipate more quickly.
