I went for a consultation to get a filler in my nasolabial folds. The Doctor suggested to inject Radiesse in my cheeks instead. Said that they are little flat, and filling them would take care of the nasolabial folds, (no need to inject Radiesse in them). Does this truly work?
Absolutely radiesse in flat cheeks can help reduce the appearance of nasolabial folds. In fact, I will often recommend against filling the folds until the cheeks are filled back to natural, youthful contours and fullness. You are likely getting very good advice.
I am a male and had radiesse in my cheeks over two years ago and it has ruined my smile. I originally went in for my nasal folds (?) and my doctor talked me into a little in my cheeks. My cheeks are now blocky and just doesn't look good. Is there any advice on how to remove or surgery action to take that will reshape them?
Unfortunately, you just experienced what can happen when you are dealing with semi-permanent injectables like Radiesse-surgery to remove is very risky and may make things look worse-only time will make it smotth out
I don;t like working with irreversible injectables for that reason and am very selectivee on what patients I use Radiesse
I developed shingles about a week after an injection of Radiesse. Is there any connection between developing shingles ( Herpes zoster with postherpetic neuraligia) on my arm and back and an injection of Radiesse on my face?
Shingles are always tricky. We ask patients with injectables who have a history of Shingles to be on Valtrex 1 week prior. Not sure where you are in your outbreak but get on Valtrex 500mg and hopefully the symptoms will subside.
