Post-Pregnancy Procedures
Becoming a mom can be one of the most joyous occasions in a woman’s life, but pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding can also lead to changes that are impossible to reverse without surgical intervention. Loose skin, sagging breasts, stubborn fat pockets, and separated abdominal muscles are just a few postpartum concerns that diet and exercise alone can’t resolve. For women looking to restore their pre-baby body, I recommend a mommy makeover. This customized surgery is a combination of procedures that can include a breast augmentation and/or a breast lift, tummy tuck, and liposuction. Some patients also opt for butt augmentation, with a Brazilian butt lift or implants. I work with each patient in my Charlotte office to personalize her mommy makeover with the right mix of procedures to regain the body that feels more like herself.
Skin Tightening
I offer skin tightening solutions for a variety of common concerns, many of which are faced by new moms or those who have experienced massive weight loss. Effective options include tummy tucks and breast lifts, if the skin has been stretched over time and requires surgery to return it to a taut, firm appearance. A tummy tuck also tightens the muscles underneath, which is especially beneficial to new mothers whose abdominal muscles have separated during pregnancy. I also provide thigh lifts and arm lifts to tone these often troublesome areas and rid them of excess fat and loose skin. During a consultation at my Charlotte practice, we will discuss your goals, and I will recommend the best procedure, or a combination, to create the most natural-looking results.

Dr. Thomas G. Liszka is a board-certified plastic surgeon and founder of Ballantyne Plastic Surgery in Charlotte, North Carolina. He performs both facial and body cosmetic plastic surgery, but he’s most well-known for his work with patients who have undergone massive weight loss or become moms.
After attending Duke University for his undergraduate degree, Dr. Liszka received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his internship and residency in General Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia, where he became chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and became the chief resident in Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Liszka then headed to the University of South Carolina, where he became an educator of medical students and surgical residents. He moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 1996 to start his private practice, Ballantyne Plastic Surgery.
In addition to his impressive educational background, Dr. Liszka is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of both the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
Dr. Liszka has been named in Cambridge’s Who’s Who of Medicine.
