hello i had a huge break out due to over treating he skin. i didnt really had acne before but stressful times caused it. im currently taking retin-a 0.1 pct and hydroquinone 8 pct its working way to slow. so know i want to have a vbeam or Smoothbeam laser.. what can you guys recommend me. i have pics Apreciated dearly.
It looks like you have breakouts and redness. We find this responds best to Vbeam and photodynamic therapy with levulinic acid. You will have reduced ance as well as redness after 2-4 treatments. The amount of redness and swelling/inflammation seen in these photos leads me to recommend this.
I had my first microdermabrasion on low setting last week. I made an appointment for the second one in 2 weeks. I really liked it. I also bought myself an IPL photofacial which I can use at any time but I'v been told it's best to do it before the summer months. I would like to do it soon as possible. How long do I need to wait between microdermabrasian and ipl photo facial appointments?
I think it is fine to get the IPL any time after the microdermabrasion. We often combine procedures for our patients so they receive the best outcome. For example we often combine IPL with Fraxel in the same session.
I have redness around nose, acne, and fine lines. Will Photofacial help? Can it also get rid of hair above my top lip?
Photofacial, or intense pulsed light facial treatment, is a very popular treatment in my practice. Its popularity I believe comes from its ability to help lighten brown spots or dyspigmentation, reduce redness and veins, and smooth skin and improve fine lines (it is not helpful for deeper wrinkles). IPL photofacial helps skin look better without makeup and addresses many of the changes that occur with mild sundamage - redness, brownness and texture changes.
For the hair on your upper lip, most experts agree that a laser treatment is more effective than IPL but for dark hair, IPL can be very helpful. Neither laser nor IPL is effective on very fine hair or light colored hair.
