Hotel Stay Alone for One Night After Rhinoplasty Ok?

I'm planning on having Rhinoplasty done in a neighboring state and I was wondering if it's ok to stay in a hotel room alone to rest after surgery until the following day when I'm picked up to be driven home ?

A: Hotel Alone = Home Alone

I would never recommend a post-operation patient to stay alone for the first 36 hrs. I actually enforce all my patients to stay with someone during the initial 36 hours after surgery. I think it is a big mistake if you are planning to stay by yourself in a hotel room after surgery.

Do I Need a Nose Job?

Primary nose job (suggestions). Do I need a nose job?

A: "Nose Job"

As previously mentioned by many other physicians, the correct term is Rhinoplasty and not "Nose Job". The decision to have a Rhinoplasty is a very personal one, it is not for a physician or someone else to impose this on you. The decision has to come from within and there must be something that you wish to change in order for you to make that decision. I would suggest doing several weeks of soul searching and see if you would like to change something about your looks. If you decide that you wish to change the looks of your nose, then the second step would be to go to your local Facial Plastic Surgeon and seek a consultation.

Will CO2 Laser Treatment Under Eyes Cause Loss of Pigment?

I am fair skinned and want to have CO2 laser under my eyes and on upper lip. Will I see a lose of pigment in those areas. I am afraid of looking like a racoon. Thank you.

A: Pigment and resurfacing

Any type of resurfacing (Laser, Chemical peel, or Dermabrasion) will cause a degree of hypo-pigmentation or loss of pigment to the skin. The way that I explain this to my patients is that this is a cause an effect issue. In order to have less wrinkles, you have to give up some pigment of your skin. The less wrinkles you want, the more pigment you sacrifice. The problem is not when you do your full face. The problem is when you only do segments. Doing segments makes it a lot harder to hide this differences as if you do your entire face. Hope this helps you understand.
