Different Doctors Have Suggested Benelli or Full Anchor Lift, Which Would be Best? (photo)

I have consulted with two board certified plastic surgeons in regards to having full abdominoplasty and breast lift. One surgeon said all I would need is a Benelli lift, the other said I need a full "anchor" lift. Why is there such a discrepancy? And why not a lollipop? After having 6 kids, and breastfeeding all of them, I just want my breasts to be back where they once were, and to stay in my bra when I lean over!! All of this just seems to get more confusing... Please help!

A: Replace what you lost

After six children and nursing them, you have lost breast volume. In my experience of doing breast surgery for over 30 years, if you wouldn't mind being a little larger, an augmenation ( over the muscle) might be all you need for your breasts. Your nipple seems to be at the inframammary line and does not need to be lifted a lot. Of course an in person consultation would be needed to know exactly what you need.

What Options do I Have for a Breast Lift after Breast Feeding? (photo)

I am 135lb, age 28, 5'3". I am considering a breast lift. I am Currently a 34D, and with a bra on...the girls look great. Nude, not so much. I feel gross. I had my son 10 years ago, and nursed him. I will not be having any more children. I am in the process of losing the last of the weight to get to a more healthy place...but my breasts have suffered tremendously. I do not want them any bigger, or smaller. They are the perfect size for my body shape (wide hips and curvy posterior). Any thoughts or opinions?

A: Breast lift

Obviously, you need an in person consultation, but from the photos, you need at least a lift. You may or may not want a small, implant at the same time.

Pre-Op Worry About Pain And Problems Associated With Surgery

I am scheduled for a breast lift with silicone implants 350 under the muscle. I am 53. I am suddenly very nervous as I have read reports of the pain and sproblems associated with this surgery. Am I getting worked up for nothing? Thank-you so much.

A: Preop anxiety about pain and complications It is completely appropriate for you to be concerned about pain and complications. Frankly, when patients don't worry and slough off these concerns, I get worried!! An informed patient is a patient who will participate well in her own care. No surgery is pain-free. However, what you should know is that the pain from augmentation under the muscle is like a faucet--it turns off within 72 hours when the muscle stops contracting. Your plastic surgeon should be able to provide you with reasonable prescription pain medication to get you through this period. Definitely discuss pain treatment alternatives prior to the procedure as this should put your mind at ease.
